What is it like to be awake?

What is it like to be awake?

“To be awake means to live with your eyes fully open and to be able to look towards life, not death” – Rose Anna Ainslie

Awakening is a transcended state of human experience where we realise our true potential, our multidimensionality and see life from a much wider perspective.

Being awakened is a state of personal power and responsibility

In which decision-making power is conscious and authority comes from within. One learns that one no longer needs an external authority to be protected and cared for.

It is a state of human and spiritual autonomy. To be awake is to be the observer and to understand that we have the power of choice at all times. Knowing that we are the cause, not the effect.

True Awakening

Being awake means that you fully understand that you have the power of choice whatever the circumstance and that at every moment you are choosing every step. When we are not awake we think that life is happening to us.

When we are awake we fully understand that life is constantly offering us opportunities and only wants the best for us and our deepest growth.

It is not a comfortable path, what is comfortable is not stepping out of the box we have built with our beliefs and limitations. Comfortable is living without facing our fears and insecurities and meeting them again and again without knowing what would happen if we transcend them, without knowing what our life would be like without those fears and insecurities.

Spiritual growth

All growth can be uncomfortable but we will never know our potential and expand from within without going through this. Beyond fear there are gifts more beautiful than our wildest dreams! One is already awakening when one sees that there is another way of doing things than what most people do. The big moment is when one is able to take the leap and dare to function beyond what most people do.

The big moment is when one dares to follow one’s heart and soul beyond rejection. On the path of awakening there is a fundamental learning which is to differentiate between the self and the you. Awakening is a path to individuation. An initiation.

With conscious parents this process can happen very clearly between the ages of 18 and 24 but if we have had parents who have wanted to instill their beliefs about us and a society that instills its beliefs about our being, this initiation is delayed.

More opportunities appear in life especially after the age of 40 but it can happen earlier as well. Depending on one’s level of dedication to personal development. On the path of awakening we walk towards interdependence and free ourselves from co-dependence.

Co-dependence has its place and is important even for our co-existence as certain energetic exchanges take place from this place but it is also the space of the Karpman triangle, also known as the drama triangle, where we move between the victim, the executioner and the saviour or heroine. This dynamic keeps us in attachment and is a distraction that keeps us from growing on our path.

To live awake is to live beyond attachment and suffering.
